Anna Franke shows the process of creating two sculptures in the volcanic landscape on the coast of Cabo de Gata in Andalusia. To explore the light, form, textures, contrasts and colours of these lunar barren landscapes, the artist walked at different times of the day during the phase of the waxing moon to two significant places where geological events as well as human industries shaped the landscape.

She documents this process and the connection between the artworks and their surroundings in photo series and videos.

With the process on site, the artist refers to the dimensions of time and space, to our direct contact with matter, where the drying up of the Mediterranean 7 million years ago can be read.
